Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Uthai Thani Old Town Community

Establishment of a database of intangible cultural heritage Important local traditions: Holy Buddha Worship Sangkas Rattanakiri Temple: Held on the 3rd – 8th evening of the 4th month of every year, it is a tradition to pay homage to the Buddha couple and worship the gilded Buddha replica on the top of Sakae Krang Mountain. Uthai Thani Procession: An ancient tradition that is inherited every 3 years with the summoning of gou teng or queu carrying from China and the procession of gods and goddesses from 4 important shrines in the area (Guan U Shrine, Chui Boi Nia/Tubtim Shrine, Pung Tao Kong Shrine, and Shrine of the Mother of Cotton Dust). The tradition of blanketing the Mon Pagoda: Held during the Songkran festival at Wat Amritwari to continue the art and motto of Mon. The tradition of giving alms to Devo at Sangkas Rattanakiri Temple: Held at Khao Sakae Krang after Lent (Ram 1 evening of the 11th month) by simulating the mandap enshrined with the footprint of the Buddha as "Siri Mahamayakudakarn" and the staircase as a staircase. Loy Krathong Tradition at Sakae Krang River: Held on the 15th evening of the 12th month at the Sakae Krang Plaza, with Wat Upostharam as the backdrop. Local Wisdom Database Registration (2022): There are 9 items of local wisdom in the Mueang Uthai Thani district in various fields such as agriculture (mixed farming, biological agriculture). • During 2023 - 2024: The representative menu of Uthai Thani Province is mainly selected based on the votes of the local people.

• In 2025: The process is more systematized. Starting with the opening of applications and selecting 5 menus at the provincial level, then sending them to qualified experts and the central committee for consideration and screening to 3 menus before opening them to the general public to vote. In order to select only 1 menu that received the highest votes to represent the province, Uthai Thani's menu won the award in category 2 (plaque with provincial certificate).
